Robert is survived by his devoted wife Suzanne Maddocks Jost, his beloved sons and their spouses: Robert Jost Jr, William and Cindy Jost, Barry Sr. He is predeceased by his parents Wesley William Jost Sr., and Virginia Ruth (Holton). He preferred to keep most of these good deeds anonymous. Bob was very philanthropic, and there are many people and organizations that have benefitted from his kindness and generosity. Bob has received numerous recognition awards from the State of NJ Senate and General Assembly for esteemed Citizen of the Garden State, Monmouth County Board of Chosen Freeholders in recognition of Good Citizenship, half-a-century of service, commitment and dedication to the citizens of Monmouth County. He was honored by the department to be their Firefighter of the Year, and provided 50 years of service ending in 2008. 1, where he served as a Chief in 19, and also as the Treasurer. He proudly volunteered his time since 1958 as a lifetime member of the Wall Fire Company No. He was a member of The Belmar Fishing Club, and the club’s Board of Governors, Belmar, the Manasquan River Golf and Country Club, member since 1989. It was also evident annually at Christmas time by the traffic jam passing by the handmade decorations displayed on his front lawn of his home on Marconi Rd. Robert sponsored North Wall Little League and Wall Soccer Club teams for more than 40 years, was a longtime supporter of the Annual Wall Police Coaster Derby, and for many years donated a new Pontiac firebird to the Wall Township Police Department to be used for the D.A.R.E. His never-ending passion for life, family, friends and community was evident on a daily basis. Bob and Suzanne were married nearly 60 years. He married his childhood sweetheart, Suzanne Maddocks of West Belmar, Wall. Born in Bayshore, Long Island, Bob moved to West Belmar and graduated early from Asbury Park High School in order to help run the family business, Jost Garage Collision Repair, established in 1923. Jost Sr., 79, of Wall, New Jersey, passed away suddenly surrounded by his loving family on Wednesday, Apat his home.
